Malawi National Football team and former Mighty Be Forward Wanderers midfielder Yamikani Chester has left the country on Tuesday afternoon for USA where he will play his professional football.
The gifted midfielder, who also won the player of the season accolade for 2018 season at the TNM Super League awards last week, will play for a United States side North Carolina FC on loan having clinched an outright three-year deal with a Czech Republic third-tier league side MFK Vyskoe.
Speaking before departure, Chester said he was happy to play professional football. “It is every players dream to play professional football and am happy my dream has come true and I will work extra hard”, said Chester.
Yamikani Chester is a third player to leave Wanderers at the end of 2018 season with Joseph Kamwendo having signed for Tshakhama FC in South Africa and having lost Precious Sambani their arch rivals Nyasa Big Bullets.
