The Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) has commended the meeting it conducted on Saturday as a success as it prepares for the 2019 Thumbs up season.
The meeting which was held at Mpira Village in Chiwembe Blantyre, had officials from all the teams that participated in the league last year as well as those willing to participate in premier division and division one.
Vice General Secretary for the association Kingsley Simbeyi said teams should expect improved running of the league this year.
“we had many teams at the meeting who raised concerns on how the league was run last year and of the problem being that of officiation which we need to work on it. We have also agreed on affiliation fee for teams who are to participate which is K 180,000 for division 1 and K 200,000 for premier division”.
He went on saying “we have also agreed to have 20 teams in each division with registration of teams to participate expected to start on 1st March and will end on 30th March 2019”, Simbeyi said.
The SRFL is expected to kick off on 6th April 2019 together with other regional leagues as well as the Super League as indicated by FAM’s released calendar.
