The Malawi National Women’s Football team, She Flames have been drawn against Mozambique in the qualifiers of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
In a draw released by CAF the She Flames are to play Mozambique in the first round of the qualifiers in a two legged tie between 1st April to 9th April 2019 and might face Kenya if they progress to the second round of the qualifiers in the dates between 26th August and 3rd September.
The last competitive match for the She Flames was in 2018 at the COSAFA Women’s tournament were they failed to progress to the next round of the competition after they lost to Botswana and South Africa despite them registering a win against Madagascar.
Did you know She Flames highest scoring win was Malawi 8–1 Botswana in Malawi on the 13 July 1968.
