The Malawi under 23 national football team has lost their first training match in Belgium against a Belgium league side STVV by 3 goals to 1.
The match which was played at the Stayen Stadium in Saint-Truiden saw the junior flames score their consolation goal in the second half through Juma Yatina as the team used two teams each for each half.
Meke Mwase who is head coach for the Under 23 said positives have been drawn from the match. “We are trying to build a better side to face Zambia and that we are impressed with the boys play and that the score line is not to let us down” reported Mwase.
The junior Flames will face of another Belgium league side PSV on Wednesday 20 February 2019 as they continue their training camp in Belgium.
