Silver Strikers Football Club has signed Malawi under 23 National football team goalkeeper Charles Thom at undisclosed fee.
Thom who played for Dwangwa United in the 2018 season has signed a 3 years contract with the central bankers that will see him at the club until 2020.
General Secretary for the club Lawrence Tobe has confirmed that the player has put pen to paper at the area 47 based side.
“we have signed one of the under 23 players after assessing our last year’s performance and the goalkeeping department was one of the areas that needed reinforcement”, Tobe said.
The coming in of Charles Thom means that Silver strikers will have 3 goalkeepers to use in the fourth coming season including Brighton Munthali and Stevie Micheta.
In a related development Karonga United Football Club has signed Clement Nyondo from Topic Academy, Charles Ndalama from Chirumba Barracks, Andy Kaonga from Baka City and Omega Nyirongo from Griffin a development confirmed by the clubs general secretary Ramsey Simwaka.
” we have signed the players from different teams that play in the Northern Region Association League and each player has signed a 2 years contract as Karonga United is a team that want to give young stars a chance to make a name for themselves in the elite league “, Simwaka said.
