With each team remaining with two games to end the 2018/19 English Premier League, each game is taken more seriously as they all want to finish on a good position.
This week’s action stared on Friday 26th April to Sunday 28th April
LIVERPOOL vs HUDDERSFIELD
Playing at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool made sure they don’t lose points as they try to win the trophy this season.
In the game, Liverpool coach Jurgen Kloop made sure all the three Africans, the Guinean Naby Keita, the Senegalese Sadio Mane and the Egyptian Mohammad Salah be in the starting line up.
The Guinean Naby Keita seems to be in good form that he controlled Liverpool’s midfield and did well to score his sides opener on the day Just after 15 seconds to set a record of the clubs quickest ever premier league goal scored.
The Egyptian Mohammad Salah could not be stopped by Huddersfield defenders as he edged his team in attack and looked more hungry for goals no wonder he managed to score a brace to top the EPL top goal scorers chat with 21 goals.
The Senegalese Sadio Mane also had his scoring boots as he scored two goals before hitting the cross bar in the later stages of the game. Mane was marvel to watch playing on the right hand side as his runs and timing to execute a pass was brilliant on the day.
With the three points Liverpool collected after defeating Huddersfield 5-0, the Reds are still on position 2 with 91 points from 36 games played.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS vs WEST HAM UNITED
West Ham United made history to become the first team to defeat Tottenham Hotspur at the new stadium Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they won the game 1-0 thanks to a Michael Antonio’s second half goal.
In the game, Tottenham Hotspur Coach Mauricio Pochettino dropped the Kenyan Victor Wanyama to the bench who was introduced later in the final minutes of the game in which Wanyama was sloppy with his passes the few minutes he was on the pitch.
The Ivory Coast defender Sergio Aurier is still finding it difficult to make it into the final squad for Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
With the loss, Tottenham Hotspur are still on position 3 with 70 points from 36 games.
NEWCASTLE UNITED vs BRIGHTON
At the American Express Stadium Newcastle United rescued a point as it ends 1-1.
Ayoz Perez scored for Newcastle United with Grob scoring for Brighton in a match Newcastle United coach Rafael Benitez trusted the Ghanaian Christian Atsu to be in the first team.
Atsu worked hard for his side on the right hand side as he helped his team in attack and defence but failed to provide crosses in the box.
The Senegalese Mohammed Diame for Newcastle United was unused substitute in the day.
CRYSTAL PALACE vs EVERTON
At Selhurst Park, it ended 0-0 between Crystal Palace and Everton.
In the match, the Senegalese Idrissa Gueye for Everton impressed in midfield with his hard working and covered well his back four. Gueye also won important tackles in the middle of the park and partnered well with Morgan Schneiderlin.
For Crystal Palace, the Senegalese Cheikhou Kouyate was given a place in the starting team and as a defending midfielder he did everything right for his team in making sure his defenders were not exposed but failed to take his team into attacking positions.
The Ivory Coast international Wilfred Zaha, as usual was in the first 11 and his presence posed a threat to Everton as his pase and energy was a thing they failed to contain on a day Zaha failed to find a goal.
Jordan Ayew, the Ghanaian international, is finding it hard to earn himself a place in Crystal Palace’s team as he was unused substitute in the day.
FULHAM vs CARDIFF CITY
The already relegated Fulham won 1-0 over Cardiff City at Craven Cottage to dent City’s survival chances in the EPL as they are fighting against relegation.
The Gabonese Bruno Manga for Cardiff City mashioned well his teams defence and intercepted a number of Fulham’s goal scoring opportunities.
WATFORD vs WOLVES
At the Vicarage Road Stadium, Wolves continued with their impressive form as they defeated Watford 2-1.
Wolves scored through Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota while the home side pulled one back through Adre Gray.
For Watford, the Nigerian Isaac Success who was introduced in the second half of the game and he failed to make an impact to the game as he even failed to create a chance and found it difficult to break through Wolves defenders.
On Sunday 28th April
LEICESTER CITY VS ARSENAL
At the King Power Stadium, Youre Tielemans and Jamie Vardy goals inspired Leicester City to an impressive win over 10 man Arsenal after Maitland-Niles was shown a red card in the first half.
For Leicester City, the Nigerian Wilfred Ndidi started in midfield and was impressive in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch as he gave no room to Arsenal midfield to play with the ball and create goal scoring opportunities.
His country men Nkelechi Iheanacho was unused substitute with the Algerian Rachid Ghezzal not in the squad for the day.
For Arsenal, coach Unai Emery had the Nigerian Alexi Iwobi and the Gabonese Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the starting line up.
The Nigerian Alexi Iwobi had a bad day in office as he failed to show his brilliance on the ball as they faced a well disciplined Leicester City midfield and was substituted at half time with Arsenal trailing the Foxes.
The Gabonese Aubameyang was back in the starting team after missing Arsenal’s game against Wolves because of a sinus infection. Aubameyang need to up his game as he lacked confidence in himself that and to add power behind the ball.
The Egyptian Mohammad Elneny was unused substitute on the day Arsenal lost the all important three points to still be on position 5 from 36 games with 66 points.
BURNLEY vs MANCHESTER CITY
At the Turf Moor Stadium, Manchester City collected three points thanks to a second half goal from Sergio Arguero for them to put pressure on Liverpool as they fight for the trophy this season.
In the game, coach for Manchester City Pep Guardiola had the Algerian Riyad Mahrez watch the whole game on the bench but that should not be a cause for worry as the job was done for them to top the EPL with 92 points from 36 games.
MANCHESTER UNITED vs CHELSEA
Trouble is failing to leave Manchester United as they are failing to reorganise themselves and find their winning formula as they played to a 1 all draw against Chealse at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Manchester United scored first through Juan Mata before Marcos Alonso equalised before the break after Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea made a mistake to gift the goal.
On the day, Manchester United the Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly back into the starting line up after missing in action for almost two months. Bailly showed brilliance and he lead well Chelsea moves and his combination with Victor Lindelof in central defence but was unlucky to injure his knee in his first game from a head injury that will likely make him miss the remaining two games of the season.
The draw still leaves Manchester United on position 6 as they have 65 points from 36 games.
