Three hours of heavy rains on Thursday brought flash flooding and destruction to Lilongwe and other parts of Malawi. Here are some pictures from Friday morning. If you have more pictures send them to us via our facebook page.
According to Department of Disaster Management Affairs, the floods also damaged houses and property in various townships.
As reported by Malawi 24 a preliminary report on the assessment conducted by the Lilongwe city council has indicated that 109 households (approximately 600 people) have been affected in Kaliyeka Township.
